I've been away from the computer for a while and I can't say how wonderful it is to DO SOMETHING after having been sitting around waiting for so long! I was finally able to get into my fiancee's house and start painting...we only got one small room done, but it felt so damn good to have that roller brush in my hand and cover up the baby blue with Benjamin Moore's gorgeous French Canvas. Next on the list is the kitchen/living room and I am currently looking for the perfect shade of gray...not too institutional, not too beige, and not too blue. I'm looking for that feeling of aged weather worn stone to set a calm and elegant backdrop for the space. I love this image from flickr...obviously space on a grander scale than I'll be working with, but the color palette is so beautiful. I'm using a very similar blue as an accent color, and doing a feature wall in the living room in that beautiful black. And an airy dining nook in Cloud White will be the finishing touch in the French country feeling.
I won't be able to get in to paint for another few days, but in the meantime I'll be drooling over more images like this dreamy living room (love love love love the bookcase with the ladder)....
and this amazing bathroom via apartment therapy's wonderful site. Oh would I kill to have that tub some day!
