Inspiring me today...

New Ventures...

Well friends, necessity truly is the mother of invention. As most of you know, I've been struggling with severe chronic wrist pain for three years now (finally diagnosed as carpal tunnel) and it recently got to the point where I had to take a nearly complete break from anything computer related. What was I to do?! My book, almost finished, had to be put aside. My little blog, just starting to find its own voice (if I dare say so myself), abandoned for over a month. My daily gorging of myself on the beauties of other people's lovely blogs, goodbye!

So what did I do to fill my days? Open an antique and vintage decor shop of course! Now before anyone gets too excited, it is a very humble little shop operated out of our home (or the little shed in the back to be precise) with quite a modest inventory, but it is my little project to bring some French Mouse style to the town! Today was our opening sale, and it went quite well considering we didn't do much in the way of advertising beyond word of mouth. I hope to open the shop maybe once a week depending on how fast my inventory depletes.

This new creative venture has also prompted me to streamline The French Mouse blog; it has organically become a space for me to voice the feminine and whimsical inspirations that fuel my textile jewelry designs, and now with the start of my decor shop I am introducing a sister blog...The French Mouse House! It will be dedicated entirely to the gorgeous interior design and decor images that inspire and challenge me to bring beauty into the everyday routine of my home life.
